The lead technician on site should complete the training via our Tech Portal at least 48 hours prior to their first installation.

At a minimum, the lead technician on site doing the installation needs to have taken and passed the online on-demand training course.

Our Pro and Premier categories are reserved for installers who have a strong track record of delivering quality customer experiences and have completed a minimum number SPAN installs. For more details about Pro and Premier categories, reach out to your sales manager (assigned to you after you become Authorized).

SPAN is designed for flexibility to meet the needs of both retrofits and new home construction, and can be installed and serviced just like a standard electrical panel.

Our Tech Portal has a variety of sales training and marketing materials at your disposal to support you in the sales process. This content can be accessed once upon creation of a Tech Portal account.

Only SPAN Authorized installers and partners are eligible to install and commission SPAN products. Applying to become an Authorized installer is a simple and quick process that takes less than 45 minutes. We require that you provide us with some basic information about your business, sign our Authorized Installer Agreement, and complete a short on-demand video training course. The entire process can be completed via our Tech Portal from a desktop or mobile device.

The installation time for a SPAN Panel can vary depending on the scope of work required and the current configuration of a home’s electrical wiring. For most homes, SPAN can be installed in 3-8 hours (similar to a standard electrical panel swap).

SPAN Drive can easily be added to any SPAN Panel installation, similar to installing any Level 2 EV charger.

SPAN is intentionally designed to be installed and serviced just like a standard electrical panel. There are some additional steps required to connect the SPAN Panel to the SPAN Home app and invite the homeowner to their new SPAN Home. This ‘commissioning’ process requires access to the SPAN Installer app and is outlined in a short video training course that can be completed remotely from anywhere.

SPAN provides virtual video training, on-the-job resources, and a dedicated SPAN Installer app to all SPAN installers. SPAN Support is available Monday - Friday to answer questions and help with any necessary troubleshooting.
